Grade 6s attended Art class with Ms. Kerr and Gym class with
Ms. Lovan this morning.
Grade 6s began their day by continuing the work they began on
writing the procedure on how to build the final version of their electric cars.
In our data management unit, we took up Thursday’s homework
on mode, mean, and median. We had a strategy lesson on using an organised list
in a table to solve a problem. Students
are asked to complete practice questions on p. 177 of the MMS textbook.
In literature circles students used their roles to discuss
chapter 13 of The Lightning Thief. Students
had some time to read chapter 14. They are asked to reflect on chapter 14 using
their new role.
During inquiry time, students completed the learned
component of the KWL chart on ancient Greece. They shared their learning with
the class. Students were presented with their final projects for this unit.
They will be preparing a museum exhibition on the civilization of their choice.
There are 3 components to their exhibit: an artefact, a written component, and
an audiovisual component. We discussed the expectations and timeline for this
project. Students had the opportunity to ask questions before they broke out
into groups and began their research.
Look out for December hot lunch order forms and a letter
about the SJA Parent Guild fundraiser coming home today.
Students are asked to be in full uniform and wear a poppy
(if possible) for tomorrow’s trip to the ROM.
