Spelling Bee

We still have some IB Portfolios missing today. Please return these as they are long overdue.

Today’s class time was used to work on exhibition. I began conferencing with groups regarding their second drafts. We completed 3 ½ conferences today. These groups have again received feedback from me on how to improve their writing. Some have received the go-ahead to begin typing their paragraphs. Others have been asked to make additional revisions and rewrite the paragraph by hand. Everyone has revising work that needs to be done on their paragraphs whether typed or written by hand. A weakness for all groups is in-text citations. Groups are encouraged to talk to Ms. Hayward if they need help doing this. The second draft must be hand written on lined paper and lines must be skipped to allow for feedback and editing marks. The second draft of the essay is due on Thursday, April 11th. Please remember that all work needs to be completed in class.

Students who completed the second draft of the essay worked on other components such as their interview questions, math component or French component. Yesterday we discussed having a Phys. Ed. or health component. Some students began brainstorming ideas for this.

The spelling bee took place today. Well done to all the brave students who participated. Congratulations to Suravi for placing third in the Grade 6 bee.

French time was shortened because of the spelling bee. Students worked on their exhibition French component. Mme. Stella was available to help students with this component.

Today’s math time was used to write the unit test.

Spring fundraising payments for the trip can still be made.

Remember to send in money for the Wizard of Oz costumes. The flying monkey payment is due this Friday.

Remember to return immunization forms by Thursday, April 18th.

Silent dance forms are due back by Tuesday, April 23rd.
