We still
have some IB Portfolios missing today. Please return these tomorrow.
I am behind with posting pictures. Enjoy these ones from last week's Be Entrepreneurial workshop.
Today’s class time was used to work on exhibition. Yesterday, some groups said they had found all information relating to their central idea, lines of inquiry, and key concept questions. They also said that they felt ready to begin writing the essay. Therefore, this morning, our goal was to understand the expectations, criteria, and process of the essay as the written component for exhibition as well as how to plan the different components of the essay using a graphic organiser. Students received information on how to go through the process, an organiser to help them plan their essay, and the rubric that will be used to assess their work. We discussed these at length to ensure everyone understood. Groups who were ready began planning their essay using their organiser. This should be completed by Thursday, April 4th.

Students who
are not ready to begin the essay continued working towards the goal of gaining
a deeper understanding of their issues using the central ideas, lines of
inquiry, and key concept questions. They read information from secondary
sources and recorded notes.
In music class,
students brainstormed ideas for an art component with Mr. Oliver. Students have
been asked to reflect on the ideas that were generated. This discussion will
continue in the next music class.
In French
class, students were encouraged to work on their French component. Mme. Stella
was available to support students as needed.
Students had
math class today. They dividing to find percents. If you know the
percent and the value of a percent, then you can find 100%. Students are
reminded to divide the value by percent to find 1%. They then find the 100% by
multiplying it by 100. Students practiced few questions from the worksheet. For
homework they are to complete questions 1, 2 & 4 from the worksheet. The unit
test has been postponed to Tuesday, April 9th as we need to complete
the review for the unit.
Students are
reminded to keep practicing for the spelling bee. The Grade 6 in-class bee will
take place tomorrow, Thursday, April 4th. Please arrive on time as
the bee starts at 9 am sharp.
Spring
fundraising payments can still be made.
