15 School Days until Exhibition
Our day began with our Hockey Jersey Assembly to honour the
Humboldt Broncos team.
We began our academic day with math. Today students
worked on review work to help prepare for Monday’s unit test. Students that did
not get done in class are asked to complete and correct all review questions in
today’s package. These must be returned tomorrow.
We continued working on exhibition for the remainder of
the day. Our focus for exhibition is still securing the primary source site
visit and/or interview. The Child Neglect group had their final interview today
with Summer who works with children on First Nations reserves. The Substance
Abuse group conducted an interview with Jim MacTaggart from Sheridan College.
The Mental Health group was out on a site visit and conducted their interview
at the same time for most of the day today. The Invasive Species group is still
waiting on confirmation for one of their interviews. Their other interview has
been postponed to tomorrow. Another priority remains the action ideas and
planning, and to keep researching to answer all concept questions and address
all lines of inquiry.
Students worked hard on completing the writing of the first
draft of the essay. These are due tomorrow. Students did not get to go out for
second recess if they had not completed this draft.
Students that submitted their essay first draft worked on
other components, such as their French component, their action component, and
their slideshow.
The class had French at the end of the day. M. Fouad
helped them as they worked on their French component.
Spring fundraiser order forms are past due. Late orders will be accepted first
thing tomorrow.
Graduation picture orders are due April 16. Sibling picture orders are
due April 18.
Students are asked to bring a baby and current photo of themselves for
Arts’ Night by April 20th. We will try our best to get these back to
you after Arts’ Night.
Students are reminded to return their Cedar Glen trip permission forms
and their immunization forms.
Dear Parents & Mentors,
Please help us by providing revision suggestions for the essay. We are
NOT correcting conventions (spelling, grammar, punctuation) at this stage.
Please provide suggestions on how the group can improve the content of the
essay, i.e. the facts, information, examples. What are ways they can further
answer their concept questions? How can they further address their central idea
and lines of inquiry. Please write your suggestion in INK directly on this
copy. We have skipped lines to allow space for revision suggestions.
Thank you for your time,
The Grade 6 Class
