Day 2
We began our
day with math. We took up Friday’s work on transformations. Much of what we
learned on Friday is applicable to today’s lesson. Students received new
coordinate grid paper and tracing paper to help them complete their work. Students
are asked to complete practice questions on p. 254 – 255 of the MMS textbook.
Look out for measurement tests coming home today.
We attended
a presentation by Earth Rangers. We saw many interesting videos and were
treated to special guests taegu, bald eagle, lemur, and falcon. What an
exciting way to spend an hour of our day.
Next we
worked on speeches. I have finished checking reason # 2 paragraphs and began
working through students # 3 paragraphs while students worked on writing their counterargument.
Students that did not complete the counterargument need to complete it for
homework. These are due tomorrow.
We will have
novel study time tomorrow. Remember to bring your books and Duo-tangs.
During
inquiry time students worked on the research component of their project on
Canada’s aboriginal peoples. They were challenged to complete ¾ of their research
in class today. Students who did not get this much done in class need to
complete it for homework. Students will use tomorrow’s class time to complete
their research and write their script. All students should have created their PowToon
account by now. Devices will be needed daily as they work on this project. All
PowToon projects are due end of day Friday.
Students
attended gym class today.
A few
students have not yet returned their City
of Ember books. Please do this as soon as possible.
Look out for
a trip letter coming home today.
Look out for
letters about a Parent Guild Movie & Dance Night on Friday, February 24th
