Today in math, we reviewed the definition and units of mass.
We took time to understand the difference between mass and weight. We examined
the relationships between mg, g, kg, and t. Students used these relationships
to solve problems related to mass. Students completed up to Q. 2 in class. Thy are asked
to complete the remaining questions on p. 240 & 241 in their math text book
for homework. The unit test on measurement has been moved to Monday,
February due to yesterday's snow day.
Our math lesson took up a large chunk of the morning.
Students met in literature circles to share and listen to
reflections of chapter 3 of Copper Sunrise. Students had class time to read and
reflect on chapter 4. Most students got their reflections completed in class
time.
Students submitted their Aboriginal research booklets today.
Many students have not completed the booklets. They are asked to work hard to
complete the entire booklet.
We used class time to work on speeches today. I met with
each student to check on their progress. Please speak to your child about the
instructions they received today. Any input from parents is welcomed.
Students attended French and Gym class today.
