Inter-School Spelling Bee

 

Today’s spelling bee took a very long time. Well done to Sunnybrook for winning the inter-school spelling cup.

Once the bee was done we completed novel study discussions for Chapter 12 and 13 of The Bridge to Terabithia.

Grade 6s then worked on their Digital Footprint summative task. Students will need devices all week as they continue work on their summative task. The last day for groups to present to me is Thursday, June 7^th. They may then present to their chosen class from Friday, June 8 – Tuesday, June 12^th.

Grade 6s attended French class today.

Remember to wear gym uniforms for track & field day tomorrow. Apply sunblock, wear a hat, bring extra water, bring $1 for a freezie, and wish for good weather. Bring your school bags just in case we don’t get good weather. In that case we will have a regular school day.

Remember to return all band instruments by tomorrow.

Arts’ Night Performance

 

It was hard doing regular class work with today’s rehearsal and performance.

Even so, Grade 6s wrote their patterning and algebra unit test, completed their probability pre-assessment task, and worked on today’s novel study work. Students who did not complete novel study work during the day are asked to read Chapter 13 and answer the questions relating to Chapter 13. This is due tomorrow when we will have our next discussion time.

See you all tonight at City Church, 2700 Argentia Road, Mississauga. Students are asked to arrive at 6:15 pm for the 7 pm performance. They should meet me in the classroom we have been working in at City Church. After the performance, we will return to this room, where students will wait to be picked up by parents.

Grade 6s are asked to return their instruments by this Friday, June 1^st.

Remember to wear regular uniform for class tomorrow.

Math Review

 

We started our day by taking up yesterday’s review package on patterning and algebra. This took all of our math class time to accomplish. Students should go over any questions they had trouble with to be prepared to write the unit test tomorrow.

Next up was novel discussion time where we discussed Chapter 11 of Bridge to Terabithia as a class. The class was assigned to read Chapter 12 and answer the questions relating to Chapter 12. This is due tomorrow when we will have our next discussion time.

It was then time for the Arts’ Night performance for JK – Grade 2 students. We also joined as the audience and got to enjoy watching other class’ perform.
