In math we
continued our data management unit. Students reviewed mean, median, mode, and
bias in survey questions. They learned about primary and secondary data. Ask
your child to explain the difference between primary and secondary data and what
makes a survey question unbiased. Everyone has completed and corrected p. 98 –
100 of their MMS 7 books in class. This means there is no math homework today.
After math
students worked on their developing country brochure. Students were challenged
to complete the brochure and email it to me before going out for recess. Some
students managed to accomplish this. Some students want to print their
brochures out in colour. Please have this done in time for tomorrow’s tea party
for the countries’ ambassadors.
Next we
worked on our science fair projects. Students who have completed the testing
and building phase are working on writing up their procedure. These students
got to go to gym class. Those who are behind with their work missed gym class
in an effort to get caught up. This project will be prioritised this week as
the science fair takes place next week, Thursday, November 30. Judging will be
completed by 2:30 pm. At this time we welcome families to visit the school and
see all the science fair projects from students in JK to Grade 8.
Students
attended French, music, and gym class today.
Scholastic
orders are due on Friday.
