Grade 6s
worked on their whole numbers unit test in math class. As a result they can
enjoy a homework-free day for a change.
During our
inquiry time, students worked on their pinwheel art project. They are about
half-way done with this work. We also began learning about static electricity.
Students conducted an investigation using a balloon. The recorded their
observations and we had a class discussion about their results. Student groups
observed different results when performing the same procedure. We discussed how
integrity is important in science as students had to record what actually
happened and not what the thought/wished would happen. We began learning how
materials can become charged through rubbing and how this can cause materials
to repel or attract another material. We did not finish up this lesson. We will
continue it tomorrow.
We continued
researching Djibouti, the country we will be representing at International Day
on Thursday, October 5th.
Grade 6s
attended gym class today.
Students should
be working on their IB Learner Profile poster and be ready to present these on
their scheduled date. Adiyah will be presenting tomorrow.
