Our day began with students writing their unit test for
Patterns in Number and Geometry.
Grade 6s then attended music class with Mr. Andrei.
Once everyone was back from music we had a great discussion
about the assigned reading for Friday and the weekend from Tuck Everlasting. Please read chapters 18, 19, and 20 and complete
the discussion questions for these chapters. We did not have enough class time
for students to complete the reading at school.
After recess, everyone worked on the next step of their RSA
animate. Students chose 10 facts they want to teach the class about the
organization they have chosen. They recorded these on 10 steps. They then had
to come up with 3 doodles for each of their 10 facts. They recorded these
doodles below the step for each fact. Students were challenged to make sure
that each step connected to the step before it.
Grade 6s attended gym class with Mr. Slyk.
The primary and junior sections of the Inter-school speech
competition against The Maples Academy takes place tomorrow. It will begin at
9:30 am. All are Welcome!
Below is a
message from the MYP team:
Good day and good
morrow fair lords and ladies;
The MYP beseeches
you to attend their amendable performance of Billy the Bard’s Merchant
of Venice, colloquially retitled The Merchant of
Manhattan. In fair New York we lay our scene; 6 suitors strive to win
the hand of the divine socialite: Portia. One suitor, Bassanio, is willing to
risk all his good friend and cousin Antonio has (including a pound of his noble
flesh) to win this lady’s hand. Will such a gamble and risk pay off, or will
Bassanio wind up wifeless, friendless and ultimately alone? To discover the
answer to these harrowing questions, join us on Tuesday March 1st. To buy
passage into the production we respectfully request a small donation of two
gold coins (or a toonie) to help fund the Arts program. We will also be holding
a bake sale to provide some delectable delights and light refreshments while
you watch. These festivities shall commence at 6:00pm. For now I shall
retire, but I do anticipate your presence. God keep you!
