In today's math lesson, we continued using long division to
divide a 4-digit number by a 2-digit number using the following repetitive
steps. Students used this strategy to solve word problems that sometimes
required other operations too. Grade 6s will be writing a Whole Numbers Unit
Test on Thursday, Sept. 25.
In our inquiry time, students wrote a test to show what they
understand about electricity concepts. Once students were done working on their
test, they worked to solve an electrical problem. They wrote a letter to
explain a solution to the problem. We began in-class discussion about the
science fair in terms of the type of project that can be done and the
expectations of students. Grade 6s began work on their project by brainstorming
scientific method and engineering design projects ideas in their scientific
journals. Please take time to review and sign the letter and expectations
coming home today.
In language, students worked on writing a descriptive
paragraph.
Grade 6s attended French and Gym class today.
