Today was a very unusual day in Grade 6. We had technical
difficulties with displaying presentations. As a result, not everybody got to
present today. We will try to get through the remaining presentations tomorrow.
Students wrote their math test on Whole Numbers during math
time.
A large portion of today was used in conducting reading
assessments. Students read a text and wrote questions, predictions, summaries,
inferences, reflections about the text they read. Students who have completed
their reading assessment package are very relieved to have this out of the way.
Students who were not doing a reading assessment worked on
reading about electrical power production in Ontario out of a publication that is the
compliments of the OPG. They also conducted a practical investigation into how
wires, batteries, and light bulbs can make a light turn on.
Some students worked on language work, where they combined
sentences, read about paragraph structures, and identified the topic and detail
sentences in a paragraph.
Look out for Fall Fair permission forms coming home today.
