We began our day with a
math lesson on rotations. Students leaned that figures can be rotated at
the turn centre in a clockwise or counter-clockwise direction. They also
learned to describe the size of the turn as a 1/4, 1/2, or 3/4 turn. They noted
that the image is always congruent to the figure and may or may not face the
same direction as the figure. Students used tracing paper and Pattern Blocks to
show rotations of a figure.
We are nearing the end of our forces unit. Students were introduced
to 6 possible projects that they could do for their summative task for this
unit on forces. The project options were presented to students today. They had
the opportunity to ask questions about the projects before making their
decisions.
