There
was a lot of student excitement permeating the air in school today. Thank
goodness for comfy pyjamas calming everyone down a little bit. Our day began
with a fun pyjama day house game. Well done to Zeta, Kappa, and Theta for
placing first, second, and third respectively in the pillowcase race.
House
games were followed by French class with Mme. Stella.
We
were joined by three students from the Maples Academy this morning. Our class
welcomed them and played several team building games before having an early
lunch. We attended the Grade 4 – 6 division of the interschool competition
after lunch. All 6 students did so well and had such interesting things to say.
Congratulations to our own Divyansh for placing first in this division.
Students the attended math class Ms. Joseph. Ms. Joseph reviewed
the homework on applications of probability. She also discussed Q 1 from the
review worksheet. Math class was shortened due to the oral competition. For
this reason, the probability unit test has been postponed to Thursday, March 5th.
We
reviewed our exhibition discussion from last week. As a class we discussed the
theme for this year’s exhibition – Who we are – by analysing the definition.
Students then began a brainstorm when considering the theme and the following
prompt: “What are some possible real-life issues or problems that fit under Who
we are that could be investigated?” Students generated many excellent ideas.
For homework they are to share their ideas with parents and generate more
ideas.
Students
wrote the unit test for our How we organize ourselves inquiry unit at the end
of the day.
Spirit week continues to take place all week.
Our Ambassador’s tea party takes place tomorrow. Students are to
dress up for this event and bring a peanut and nut-free treat to share.
