Experimental Probability

We had a guest teacher in our class today. He discussed digital ethics, moral code, rights and responsibilities, and more with students.

He also taught the class their math lesson on experimental probability. Students conducted an experiment that involved tossing quarters. They first recorded how many possible outcomes there were and the likelihood of each outcome as a fraction, decimal, and a percent. They then conducted the experiment, recorded their results. They compared the results to what they thought would occur. They also pooled the class’s results. Students were assigned practice questions 2, 3, and 7 on pages 413 & 414 of the MMS 7 textbook.

Later in the day, students had another math class with Ms. Joseph. They worked on the mid-unit review. They are asked to complete questions 2, 3, and 5 on page 215 of the MMS 7 textbook.

We will be having extra math classes this week to ensure we complete the probability unit. The unit test may take place on Friday if all work is completed on time.

We had our last session of generating criteria for report interview writing. At the end of the day, students used their learning, the feedback they received, and the criteria we generated to write an improved report.

Students attended French class.

Remember to return the permission form and payment for graduation. This is past due.

Please return all portfolios as we will be working on these later this week.
