Day 1 – Bernoulli’s Principle

In math, students subtracted fractions using their preferred method from a choice of fraction strips, circles, number lines, or an equivalent fraction with the same denominator. Students are asked to complete pages 78 – 84 of the MMS 7 practice book if they did not get done in class.

During our Flight inquiry time, students wrote their test on the properties of air. We then went on to learn more about aerodynamics. Students learned about the work of Daniel Bernoulli and how his learning can be used to explain some of the results we have seen in our investigations. We applied his principle to an airfoil to explain how lift is attained. Students will be writing a test on Bernoulli’s Principle on Monday. If Friday’s ski trip is cancelled due to the weather, then the test will be written on Friday instead.

At the end of the day, Alex has the class participate in an activity that helps them to understand the Earth’s rotation.

Students attended French and music class today.

Remember to send in the $4 payment and form for tomorrow’s Cinderfella play for Anti-Bullying day if you forgot to do this today. Students are asked to wear a pink shirt (or other pink item if they don’t have a pink shirt) to show that they take a stand against bullying.
