We began our
day with math. Students calculated percents of a number by multiplying.
Students ignored the decimal initially but then placed it in the final answer.
Students who did not complete this work in class are asked to complete pages 168
– 169 of the MMS 7 practice book for homework. Students will be writing a unit
test on fractions and percents on Tuesday, March 6th.
Students
were introduced to their summative task for the flight unit to build and test
the best paper plane plane using the scientific method. Our operational
definition of ‘Best paper plane’ is ‘the one that flies the farthest’. Students have placed themselves in groups. They
should visit the website below to choose the model of paper plane they will be
testing in their investigation.
Students
painted their hot air balloon models today. They focused on an authentic design
that used colour and variety as their element and principle of design. This was
a fun but messy project.
At the end
of the day, students worked on their safety in flight presentations. These will
be presented in class tomorrow. Devices will be needed for this task.
Students
attended gym and French class today.
