Today, in
math, we reviewed linear, square, and cubic units. We also reviewed linear
conversions before learning how to do square and cubic conversions. Finally,
Grade 6s compared the size of a 1 cm cube to a 1000 cm cube and to a 1 000 000
cm cube to gain an understanding how big 1 m3 is. Students are asked
to complete p. 90 – 91 of the MMS 6 practice book for homework.
In today’s
novel study on Tuck Everlasting, we discussed Chapters 11 & 12 as a
class. Students have been assigned to complete Chapters 13, 14, & 15 and
the responses on p. 39 – 43. This work is due tomorrow.
For our
inquiry unit, Where we are in place and time, students continued working on
their first line of inquiry ‘First Peoples and their interaction with the
environment’ through the lens of causation.
They worked on recording their research in jot note form in their graphic
organiser. Today was the final day that students will have class time to
complete their research. Any research that is still not complete needs to be
completed for homework. They will need their devices all week. Students will
need access to their own POWTOON account tomorrow.
Parents are
reminded to make the Freshbooks payment for our trip to Crawford Lake before
the end of the day today.
We spent
