Day 5
We continued
working on our Fractions, Percents, Ratios, and Rates math unit. Today’s lesson
was all about equivalent ratios. Students caught onto this concept very quickly
and showed a preference to using tables to show equivalent ratios. Students are
asked to complete practice questions on p. 326 – 327 of the MMS textbook. Many
students made excellent progress on the practice work in class.
The rest of
class time was spent working on exhibition. Students began exhibition time by
reflecting on the work they did last week, namely the essay, by completing a
journal entry. They considered what they did well and what they could have done
to improve the quality of their work. They also considered the learner profile
attributes and attitudes that they have demonstrated, or have failed to demonstrate.
We discussed the various outstanding required components for exhibition. Most students
spent their time working on their French component. They spent some time
discussing their oral component, action component, or creative components.
We ended the
day on our squash trip. We had a lot of fun and look forward to going again in
a few weeks time.
Students
attended French class with Mme. Stella this morning.
We have a
lot of action taking place around the school!
Jacob and
Husmeen are collecting materials to donate to an animal shelter for their
exhibition project. They are looking for cat litter. Cat food, toys for pets,
clothing for pets, old blankets, animal bowls, or anything you think may help.
Vishva in Ms. Hung’s Grade 3 class, recently
became an Earth Ranger is holding a battery drive until Friday, April 7.
Please bring in any old batteries and we will pass them along to Vishva.
