Day 1
We continued
working on our Fractions, Percents, Ratios, and Rates math unit. Students received
their quizzes back. Please review, sign, and return these to school. We took up
yesterday’s homework and then did a lesson on relating fractions, decimals, and
percents. Students are asked to complete practice questions on p. 314 – 315 of
the MMS textbook.
The rest of
class time was spent working on exhibition. Today’s goal was to write the whole
first draft of the essay. Students divided the work up between the members in
their group. Three groups were successful in completing their first draft. They
are bringing home a copy to receive feedback from parents. Parents are asked
suggest ways to improve the essay. Please write directly on the first draft in
ink. Students who did not get done in class are asked to complete their portion
of the essay for homework. Some groups managed to meet with their mentor and
get their feedback on the essay.
During
French time, we discussed the idea that the class has come up with for their
French component. As a class we agreed on the criteria that need to be met in
order for students to successfully complete this component. We compiled a list
of steps that will help students to be successful.
Look out for
letters about parent-teacher conference appointments coming home today.
