We began our day with novel study time. We had a whole class
discussion of vocabulary students encountered in chapter 3 as well as their
thoughts on the literal, inferential, and opinion questions that they answered
on these chapters. We then read the next chapter together. Students then worked
independently to answer the next set of questions.
Students then either began working on their math unit test
on Patterns in Number or Geometry or they had conference time with to review
their math package. All students chose to write the test today.
We then continued learning about belief systems and today we
began learning about Buddhism. We watched a documentary about the Birmingham
Buddhist Centre in England.
Ask your child what they learned today. Please
remember that we are visiting the Buddhist temple tomorrow. Be sure to return
your trip form.
Grade 6s attended French and Gym class today.
The date of the in-class spelling bee has changed to Monday,
June 1. On this day, 5 students from Grade 6 will be selected to go to the
