In today's math time we took up all questions assigned from Friday's
homework on solving equations. For today's lesson we learned that integers are
numbers that show size and direction in relation to zero. Students understand
that earning $10 is a positive value, but spending $10 is a negative value, and
height above sea level is represented by a positive value, while depth below
the ocean is a negative value. Temperature is something that students related
easily to in terms of positive and negative values. They used their understanding
to solve problems involving integers. Most of the class completed all their practice
work in class. Well done Grade 6s! Only
students who did not get done in class will be bringing their math work home.
In our inquiry time, students continued working on their jot
notes in class. Today was the last day to look for information from book
sources. Students are asked to bring their devices tomorrow in order to do an
internet search for their last source. We will then begin writing our rough
drafts.
In language, students used our report writing anchor chart
to write another, improved report. Students also worked independently on adjectives and
adverbs.
Grade 6s attended Gym class today.
