Students
began their day by working on their speeches. We discussed how to write an
introduction and a conclusion. I met with all students and checked work that
had been completed and gave feedback on how to improve writing. Today’s goal
was to write the first draft of the introduction and conclusion and to have
these revised for tomorrow. Students who are behind in their speech work need
to work on getting caught up.
Next we
worked on our Explorers RSA Animate project. Students planned their RSA Animate
using a 10-step organiser. They decided on facts that explained causation,
change, and perspectives related to their chosen explorer. They also decided
and practiced the doodles that will represent their information. Incomplete
organisers need to be completed for homework.
Students received
their explorers’ unit test today. We took the test up as a class. Parents are
asked to review the test, sign it, and return it to school.
Grade 6s
attended French and math class today. In
math class they reviewed last week’s homework. They practiced problems to find
one of the sides when area is given. For homework they are to complete
questions from the worksheet. The unit test is scheduled for Monday, February 4th.
A few students still need to submit the test signed by the parents.
Re-registration packages are due by Monday, February 11. After this
time, spots will be opened up to the public and your child will not be
guaranteed a space for next year. We look forward to seeing you back for
next year!
