Flags

It was a very exciting time in P1 this morning. The Grade 5s joined us for inquiry time. Students worked in groups to create their country's flag. Ms. Eisele and I are very happy with the cooperation we are seeing between group members and the creativity that is being displayed through the flags. Most of all we are thrilled with the enthusiasm students are showing for this project!

Once the grade 5s returned to their portable, the Grade 6s got into their groups for their novel discussions and then silent reading time. Everyone got through reading the next chapter (15). Most students need to finish up the questions at home.

Grade 6s attended Drama and French class today.

Because Ms. Lovan was away today and because we are missing a lot of inquiry time next week, we met up with the Grade 5s to work on the government unit again.  Students worked on creating a motto for their country and then started coming up with ideas on how to govern the new country. Students referred to their government duo-tangs, non-fiction texts, and internet sources to research information.

We did not have class time to allocate to science fair today. Students are encouraged to come to school early each to work on their projects from 8 am to 8:45 am daily.
