As usual we began our day with math. We solved division
problems where the dividend was a bigger number. Students were expected to
solve the problem using pictures. We used Base Ten Block pictures to show our
work.
In arithmetic, students learned how to do long division
where the divisor is a 2-digit number.
In our inquiry unit on story writing, students continued
working on their final project for this unit. Some are still writing the first
draft of their story. Some are revising some of the big ideas of their stories.
Those who took the easy way out in solving the problem in their story were
challenged to come up with a better ending. Some students are editing their
second draft. Others have begun typing up the good copy of their story.
In language, students finished up working on list 13
spelling words. In language, students learned the correct way to address
envelopes when sending letters.
Students attended French, art, and gym class today.
