Day 1
Students met in their groups to
discuss the final chapter of Bridge to
Terabithia by Katherine Paterson. Students then began their summative task for
their novel study. They are making connections between the book and our UOI.
They are identifying 3 characters from the book whose personal, social,
relational, or physical health was at risk. They worked to identify the risk,
relate it to the Real World Safety Pledge, describe how the character was
affected, and what the character could have done to reduce the risk.
We had a few Arts’ Night
rehearsals today. Some students remembered their costumes. Everyone is reminded
to bring their costumes (including a blazer and tie) for a dress rehearsal
tomorrow. Arts Night takes place on Wednesday, June 7th, at 1 pm
(dress rehearsal) and 7 pm. Our theme this year is Music through the Eras! You
are in for a fantastic night of art, dance, and song! We are asking that
students be at the school 6:30 pm to get ready for the evening performance. We
will also be selling treats and baked goods, so get ready for what is sure to
be a wonderful evening.
Grade 6s worked on their DRA
reading engagement survey for Term 3.
During UOI time, students worked
with the partners on their summative tasks. These are due on Friday, June 9th.
Students need their devices daily as well as any materials they plan to use for
their presentations.
Students attended gym class today.
