We spent a little bit of time discussing some of the
feedback we received from our Exhibition on Friday night.
We then began our academic day by working on math. We took
up homework from last week on perimeter. We then did a lesson on perimeter and
area of rectangles. Students used formulae to find perimeter and area. They
converted area in m2 to cm2. Students changed the lengths
of one of the sides of the rectangles to determine how the perimeter and area
would be affected. Students then worked on the practice work on p. 348 &
349 of the MMS textbook. Any incomplete work should be done for homework.
I then began conducting reading assessments for this term.
Students were called over to complete the out-loud portion of their reading
assessment. They then worked on reading and responding to the text they have
been assigned. We will continue with reading assessments tomorrow.
Students who completed their math, but were still waiting to
be called for reading assessments worked on their Exhibition reflections in
their journals.
The class attended music and gym today.
We will have Music instead of French class tomorrow.
Please practice your spelling bee words for this week’s
in-class spelling bee on Wednesday.
