In arithmetic, we learned how to find the least common
multiples of given numbers. Students did this by first listing all the
multiples of the given numbers, then finding all common multiples, and then the
least of all the common multiples
In language, students continued working on List 34 spelling
words. We began our The Secret Garden Literature Circles today.
Students were placed into 3 groups of 4 students. We had a quick run through of
the roles in literature circles. Students have a schedule of the required
reading and role that needs to be completed today. They had time tin class
to read chapter 1 and to complete today's role. Unfinished work needs to be
done as homework. Chapter 1 response is due tomorrow. It is important that The
Secret Garden books and reading duo-tangs be brought to school daily as we
will be having daily group meetings as well as time allocated in class for
reading.
In our plants and soils unit, our question was, "How
plants and animals need each other?" Students worked in groups to examine
pictures that depict how animals and plants depend on each other. Students
worked together to identify the topic the pictures portrayed and described
their topic.
For science fair, I met with students who have not yet begun
testing to check on their progress. Remember to take pictures and record data
as you go. Make time in the next week or so to purchase a tri-fold display
board for the science fair.
