Day 3
Today the class was saddened that
exhibition was over when the saw the mountain of work we had planned for the
day. The whole day was used to work on a math preassessment task, this term’s
Ontario Writing Preassessment task, and this term’s Developmental Reading
Assessment. We have allocated 3 days to get this work done. We will start the
new and final inquiry unit for this year on Thursday. Students who did not
complete or even start these tasks today still have Tuesday and Wednesday to
complete them.
We used the last 30 minutes of
the day to have a mock spelling bee to help prepare for Thursday’s in-class
contest. The Grade 6 class will be going up against a few Grade 5 students who
have been working on Grade 6 spelling words this year. The competition is
tough. Students should be practicing these words at home. All students received
a list of words to work through last week.
The whole class got to go out for
both recesses today and they attended gym and French class.
Students are asked to please
send/ their exhibition Prezi’s and PowerPoints. We will need these as we work
on IB Portfolios this week.
We will be beginning a new math
unit tomorrow. Students who have lost their rulers need to replace them as we
need rulers daily for the new unit. There is no math homework assigned today,
but there will be math homework tomorrow.
Students are reminded to bring
their band instruments for music class tomorrow.
The ordering
system for June lunch is up and
open. Please ensure you place your
order no later than May 19th at 4:00 pm. Lunch payment is due by May 23rd 4:00
pm.
Clothing iron-on name labels are now available through Alpa.
