Day 8
We began our
day with math class. Students continued to work through the review package.
Unfortunately, due to my forgetfulness, everyone’s reviews packages were
forgotten on my desk. Students will be unable to work on them for homework as I
requested they do in class today. To solve this problem, I am switching the due
date for the book summary and the date of the math unit test. This will allow
an additional day of review in class to ensure everyone is well prepared for
the test. Sorry about this everyone. The
unit test will be written on Tuesday, March 7th.
After math, students
continued working on their final project for the explorers unit. Their
challenge was to plan their RSA Animate today. They had to decide on the 10
facts they want to teach the class about the interaction between first peoples
and early explorers. They also had to draw doodles to represent each fact. Students
will be doing a rehearsal of the RSA Animate tomorrow. They may even get the
chance to do their video recording. They will need their cameras to do this.
Devices are needed for tomorrow’s
class.
We had novel
study time at the end of the day. Students had the treat of doing novel study
with Ms. Chang. They discussed the questions for chapters 21 and 22 of Tuck
Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt as a class. Students are asked to read chapters 23,
24, and 25 (the Epilogue) and complete response pages 59 to 68 for tomorrow.
Their final project for the novel study is to write a summary of the book. This is now due on Monday, March 8th.
Students may begin working on this now if they wish. The summary prompts can be
found on pages 69 – 72.
Students
attended French, gym, and music class today.
Remember to
return the ski trip permission forms.
