Next up was math. We used tree diagrams to solve probability
problems where there are many possible outcomes. Grade 6s students needed much
support with these problems. A number of students completed all practice
problems in class. Students who did not get done are asked to complete the
remaining problems on p. 418 & 419 of the MMS textbook for homework.
Students will be writing a unit test on probability on Monday, June 8.
Our novel study time is a time that Grade 6s are enjoying
very much. We discussed chapter 9 of Number
the Stars. Students then had class time to read chapter 10 and complete the
discussion questions independently.
The class headed back to the gym for another Arts Night
rehearsal.
At the end of the day, students were introduced to the final
project for our inquiry unit on religions. Students will be writing a children’s
book on a belief system of their choice. Grade 6s have already chosen the
belief system they would like to write about. Students should bring devices to
school for the remainder of the week for research purposes.
Students attended French and Gym class today.
Lookout for a letter coming home today about our final trip
